Trendy Gold and White Sweet Table

Trendy Gold and White Sweet Table

I finally get to show off that trendy gold and white sweet table I worked on in collaboration with Marie from MA Signature Events this past May. She brought together some of the best in the industry to create a seamless and sophisticated styled shoot. It was such an experience, being able to set up in an art studio, the Le Livart. You literally have a blank canvas, all white walls you can play with! It was so much fun being able to see my creation come to life amidst this white backdrop.

I was given carte Blanche (pun intended) to do as I pleased so long as I created something within the elements of the styled shoot: mercury gold, paper flowers, white, trendy and stunning 🙂 I think I was able to capture the essence she wanted!

I asked Marie to share with us a brief description behind her concept and this is what she had to say:

“I wanted to manipulate white in different elements to bring more of the immaculate whiteness of the venue. But I didn’t want it to be uni-dimensional, so we played with various textures and styles to create an interesting visual. By combining modern, vintage, metal, paper , gold and white, we were able to create an eclectic but stunning decor!”

With that being said, here are the pictures of the shoot taken by the very talented Mo from Maurice Keiffer Wedding Photography

A Splash of Gold

The desserts were all white with some speckles of gold to give that mercury gold effect!

Mo was able to use the art studio to his advantage taking different shots from different angles, giving the table a new few each time.

Eat Cake for Breakfast

As the famous saying goes, who wouldn’t want cake for breakfast! I especially (don’t judge me) love a piece of cake the day after the party…for breakfast…with my first cup of coffee…Delicious! The best part of these cakes are the paper flowers I used to decorate them with. Marie did a phenomenal job making so many for the shoot.

Dinner is served!

As for the dinner table setting, it couldn’t get more elegant than this. All crisp white paper flowers with gold touches to bring out that romantic feel, yet this can be set up for a cozy winter wedding or a summer soiree. Gold and white has always been and will always be a dream color theme to work with. It’s royalty, elegance (sorry for the repeat) and sophistication all rolled up in a beautiful ball!

Marie and her lovely assistants made the floral backdrop. It took them some time but they managed to get it done. How pretty are these sitting on the mantle!

And you guys! You’re going to freak out when you see how Mademoiselle D created the menu cards!

Well, I hope you enjoyed the eye candy as much I enjoyed this collaboration! This trendy gold and white is here to stay and I’m happy to say that I’ve done multiple tables within this very theme 🙂

Until the next table, stay sweet!

Flamingo Pineapple 1st Birthday Party

Flamingo Pineapple 1st Birthday Party

Flamingo Party!

If you haven’t already noticed the big trend this year, I think you’ve probably had your head in the sand lol. It’s all about Flamingos and Pineapples this year when throwing a summer party. It’s super fun and colourful that this can be a theme anyone would love to have! That’s why we went with a flamingo party to celebrate my my niece’s 1st birthday.

I especially had so much fun coming up with the design and styling aspect of it. Of course, I HAD to add some glam to the table. Who doesn’t love a sequins table cloth??!! I had to stop a few people from leaving the party with it lol.

Party like a Pineapple

Let’s start with the backdrop… Not only are pineapple and flamingos trending but so are these balloon backdrops. They are everywhere! My instragram feed is filled with them. Of course i had to make one myself :). Let me tell you how easy it is to make one. This is a super easy DIY. And it literally took me 15 minutes to make. Well, of course it helped that my sister blew up all the balloons before hand to help with the process… But that’s beside the point… moving on to how easy this is to make 🙂 All you need is string, balloons in different colors and sizes, fillers like flowers and leaves and something to hang it on. Comment below if you’d like to see a tutorial on how to make one.

Desserts

The desserts were a hit with the crowd. It’s really simple when all they want are the usuals: cupcakes, cake pops, macarons and oreo gems. I also made some cannolis but they were gone before the party started.

But the best ones were the cinnamon sugar mini donuts I made and dressed up as pineapples! They were so cute! I found a template online that I liked, sized it down and printed it out on green paper. Super easy and take no time at all.

The cake was a red velvet buttercream with floral accents to make you feel like you were away on the islands. The cake toppers were made by my niece’s aunt. She is so creative! She helped with a ton of other table paper decorations.

Happy birthday to this cutie patootie! I wish you many more celebrations and a happy and healthy year to come!

I hope you were inspired for you next summer bash. Until the next table, stay sweet!

Sophisti’CAT’ed Glam Birthday Sweet Table

Sophisti’CAT’ed Glam Birthday Sweet Table

An upscale Cat Glam Sweet Table

A few weeks ago, we had my daughter’s 8th birthday party. Let me tell you that this little girl has been planning this party for a better part of a year but really focusing on the details in the last 6 months. She loves cats! So I convinced her to have a glam cat party. I didn’t want her to go the baby route (this party is as much for me 🙂 as it is for her), so we came up with a “Sphisti’CAT”ed Glam Birthday”.

The color palette, you guessed it :), was gold, black and white. There was some glitter and sequins to make things pop!

The Details

My good friend Sorayda from Creations by Jazzmine Rose made all the cute cat details: wall banner, favour bags, juice bottle picks. The kids loved them!

The Desserts!

The cake you see is a fake one (oh my!). Fake! My Madalayne hates cake. I know shocking right. Her mom is a baker and she doesn’t like cake… That is why she opted for cupcakes. We had to negotiate lol. So I made cupcakes and a fake cake. My sweet tables always act as favours as well. I try to make things that the kids would love to bring home. I’m sure parents are sneaking some of the goodies when they’re not looking 🙂

The Birthday Girl

Another reason I use their parties are for pictures. When I scroll through the pictures of sweet tables I’ve done for them over the years, I see the changes. They’re growing up so fast! They are the best part of me and I love them so much! These styled sweet tables are a reminder for me that I do what I do for them and for me.

I hope that Ive been able to give you some tips on creating your own glam sweet table.

Until the next table, stay sweet!

Unicorn Dessert – Cheesecake Mousse

Unicorn Dessert – Cheesecake Mousse

Today I’m going to share something different. I usually share my tricks and tips to creating a beautiful sweet table. Today, I’m going to share a recipe to one of my popular desserts that is usually on my sweet tables. It’s a cheesecake mousse, but I’ve created a special one for this post. I’ve jumped on the Unicorn bandwagon and created my very own version of the popular dessert 🙂 A Unicorn Dessert – Cheesecake Mousse!

Be a Unicorn

This unicorn dessert is so easy and versatile, it’ll be your go to for family gatherings and birthdays. Trust me when I say it’s not only simple it’s yummy! I’ll also let you in on my secret for keeping this dessert stable: gelatine. I use the ever popular KNOX Gelatine, but you can use your favorite or what is available at your local grocery store. You don’t have to add it, but if you’re creating a sweet table that will be displayed for all to see, this will make sure they keep for a bit.

To make these into unicorns, all you need are gel colors in your favorite shades. I used pink and turquoise. A few drops is all it takes. To create the beautiful unicorn hair, color some buttercream in a couple of other colors (i used purple and blue) and pipe it on. Have fun with it!

If you do try it, I’d love to hear how you liked it!

Until the next table, stay sweet!

Unicorn Dessert – Cheesecake Mousse Recipe

  • 8oz cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 package unflavoured gelatine
  • 1/4 cup water

Mousse

1-Pour the water in a small bowl. Sprinkle the gelatine on top of the water. Allow the gelatine to set for 2 minutes. Once set, microwave on high for 30 seconds until melted. Let stand for 2 minutes.

2- With an electric mixer or hand held mixer, beat the cream cheese on high.

3- Mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla.

4- In a seperate bowl, beat the heavy cream and sugar on high until stiff peaks.

5- Whip the gelatine and add to the cream cheese mix.

6- Fold the whip cream into the cream cheese mix.

7- You can seperate the mousse into 3 seperate bowls and color to your liking.

8- Prepare 10-12 small cups (about 5-7 oz). Add your mousse into a piping bag, and pipe into the cups. Top off with some buttercream. Refrigerate until you’re ready to serve or add to your sweet table.

Boho Sweet Table

Boho Sweet Table

This past weekend, I had the privilege of being a vendor at the first ever Boho inspired wedding festival in Montreal, QC, Le Coeur Boheme. It was by far one of the best wedding shows I have had the pleasure of being a part of. I created a boho sweet table that I was so proud of!

I got to meet other professionals within the wedding industry that cater not only to the Boho bride but also the modern, eclectic and not your typical couple. From jewelry to wedding dresses to cakes and photographers. There was something for everyone!

I want to thank Vola from DVF Events for creating the beautiful flower centrepieces, greenery and for telling me that I NEEDED to have the Protea flower along side my desserts! I’m so happy she convinced me as it was the talk of many that stopped by my booth! To the beautiful Marilou from Kyoto Fleurs for lending me her arch to allow me to create this beautiful backdrop! Thank you to Creations by Jazzmine Rose for the signs and cake topper! And to my baby girl for helping me make the macrame backdrop! My truest of inspirations when it comes to my business 🙂

Thank you to the beautiful Koly of La Palette K for taking such pretty pictures of my booth!

Valentine’s Day – All you need is Love

Valentine’s Day – All you need is Love

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and more than ever we need to spread Love and Joy around us. This year I wanted to create something sweet for my kiddies to show them how much I appreciate them. They are my rock and constant reminder that no matter what they love innocently and unconditionally.

This sweet table was so easy to put together, anyone can do it. I walk you through the whole thing and hopefully you can have a party for your little ones to show them Love!

Let’s start with the backdrop. The hearts are made out of foam and bought from the dollar store. The pinwheels were so easy to make! I found a tutorial on Pinterest. Some coloured card stock and glue gun and you’re all set!

Arrange as you see fit. There’s no right or wrong, just whatever catches your eye.

Desserts!

For my desserts I made mini cupcakes, cake pops, chocolate covered oreo gems and some mini donuts. The donuts are my favorite! I purchased the book Mini Donuts by the Novice Chef and they are perfection! I tweaked the glaze a little to give it a bit of “mommy’s touch”.

Don’t be afraid to get creative! I used heart sprinkles, sanding sugar and heart picks to decorate them.

The best part of my shoot… My son wanted to take part so he was all for posing for the camera!

Take a look how adorable this face is! I’m so lucky to have him in my life. I’m so lucky to have all my kids! They make my heart full and my life beautiful!

I hope you’re ready to shower your loved ones with Love! I wish you a beautiful Valentine’s Day and until the next table, stay sweet!

Sweet Endings: New Years Eve Dessert Table

Sweet Endings: New Years Eve Dessert Table

It’s finally her! The end of 2016. This year has been one amazing journey! So many wonderful things happened this year, I met so many wonderful people and got to see my little company flourish with all the love I was able to give it. For my last post of the year, I created a simple yet elegant New YEar’s Eve dessert table that you can recreate yourself for your loved ones. It’s a champagne-slash-desert bar! Pretty amazing combining two of my favorite things!

Ring in the New Year!

I love intimate gatherings, having friends over. Especially for a special occasion like NYE. For this set up, I used my buffet table. Since we will be having a dinatoire (a fancy word for cocktail party :)), I wanted a similar idea for my dessert table as we count down to midnight.

new years eve sweet table

As you can tell, my color palette is my usual got to for any celebration: gold and black. Come on, who doesn’t LOVE this combo!? I kept the dessert selection simple, cake pops and cupcakes. But of course, you can add more types like cookies, macarons, dessert shots, etc. I want everyone to have fun with a drink in their hand.

Let’s talk about this banner! This is a mix of Target, Dollar Store and Home Sense all mixed together. Isn’t it pretty!

NYE banner

The last touch to this table would be the champagne and flutes. I bought these pretty flutes from HomeSense. I adore them! They are so different, so unique and so me! More champagne… Yes please!

New Year’s Eve Dessert Table

Thank you so much for reading up on my blog posts, learning all about sweet tables and desserts. I hope that you’ll join me in 2017 for more tables and celebrations. On that note, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! May all of you be blessed with love, happiness, good health and a beautiful beginning to 2017!

Until the next table, stay sweet!

Modern Christmas Sweet Table

Modern Christmas Sweet Table

Welcome back to our second inspiration sweet table for your holiday parties! If you read last week, I touched on the traditional colors of red and green to create a simple DIY sweet table for your party. This week we’re going to put away tradition and get on trend with everything metallic! Shades of silver and gold are your best friends this season. I’ll show you how to pair up these colors so that it doesn’t look like a strobe light is going off in your house when your guests walk in.

Jingle all the way!

fullsizeoutput_2eb4

Look how pretty it looks all together! Once again I used wrapping paper for the backdrop. I got this pretty one from Walmart. This roll was $5. I covered the wall the length of my table, or just about. My ornaments are from years past and my golden trees and reindeers are new. LOVE mixing old and new together. I feel like it gives the older items a whole new life.

Once you’re done with the sweet table, the tree cones and reindeer can be placed as a centrepiece in your living area or dining table. They are such great decorative pieces, functional for any room.

Lastly you get to add bling to your desserts! Don’t be afraid to you use toppers on your cupcakes and cake. I went with the metallic cupcake cups to give it more of a pop. I purchased mine here. But I’m sure any of your cake supplie stores have them.

A great modern piece to use on your table are these geometric candle holders. Geo is all the rage right now and can be incorporated into a modern and trendy sweet table like this one. I also scattered fake snow and ornaments to finish off the look.

Don’t be afraid to try something new this holiday season! Leave a comment below and let me know what color combination you’re going with this year. I’d love to hear from you!

Until the next table, stay sweet!

Easiest Christmas Dessert Table Set Up

Easiest Christmas Dessert Table Set Up

“Tis the season to be joyful and going crazy with shopping, cooking, entertaining and everything in between! I’ve come up with some simple and pretty dessert table set ups for your holiday parties either with family, friends or work. This week I’ll start with the first of the 3 that I created. This one is very traditional, going with green and red for a color palette.

Peace on Earth

christmas sweet table, montreal sweet table

Let’s start with the backdrop. This was such a simple and cost effective idea that anyone can do. I used wrapping paper I found at Michaels in their dollar bin. You really don’t need much. The rest can be used to wrap gifts with 🙂 I also borrowed a vintage looking window from a friend. It gave it that dimension I’m always looking for on a sweet table.

The rest of the decor are items I have from previous years decorations. You can use pine cones, candles, ornaments, lights. There are so many ideas out there if you just google it.

The desserts can either be made or bought. I love baking, so these are all home made. But don’t feel like you have to if you don’t have the time. Why not have your guests bring some of their favorites over and place them on your table. Just give them your colour palette and let them get creative!

I wish you a beautiful Christmas season and hope to see you next week for my second inspiration dessert table!

Turning your sweet table into a favour table

Turning your sweet table into a favour table

This past summer I had the privilege of working with Micheline and Sami on creating a glamorous sweet table with the colours pink, silver and blush. There was one catch though. Because they were holding their reception at the Ritz-Carleton Montreal, the desserts had to be individually packaged and set out so that the guests were able to take it to their table without much work from the staff. So we had to turn this sweet table into a favour table that all the guests would be able to take home desserts!

They decided to have cupcakes packed in clear boxes, cake pops individually packaged, small mason jars filled with candy almonds tagged with their name and wedding date, dessert shots, macaron tower and a Ferro Rocher tower. You can customize your own table with your favorite desserts. The possibilities are endless!

I also used sequins linens to add glamour and have this table stand out.

Take a peek at the beautiful pictures taken by AliKay Photography 🙂

We were also featured on the Elegant Wedding Blog recently. You can have a look at the rest of the beautiful wedding here!
