A Mint Green and White Baptism Sweet Table

A Mint Green and White Baptism Sweet Table

It’s not always about weddings when it comes to having a sweet table. I created a mint green and white baptism sweet table this summer for the cutest little guy. The sweet table was placed as the centre of attention, before the small gathering of family and friends.

Dominic’s mom wanted to go with a rustic theme with added angel wings on desserts and rosaries on the chocolates. With all the rustic themes I’ve been doing these past few months,  I had all the necessary decor items to make this happen. The venue added the perfect backdrop as you’ll see in the pictures.

I think I’ve mastered the rustic, boho, chic feel for sweet tables.

For the sweet table I added cake pops with angel wings, mini cupcakes, macarons, sugar cookies decorated with crosses. I also added chocolates that were adorned with rosaries and wood crosses.

When you create a sweet table for a specific event, make sure that the elements added are in tune with what you’re celebrating. It makes for great pictures and memories.

Here are some great pictures from the event:

Burgundy and Black Rustic Boho Chic Dessert Table

Burgundy and Black Rustic Boho Chic Dessert Table

Fall is approaching and that means darker colours and cooler tones. This burgundy and black rustic boho chic dessert table will definitely be the talk of your event, wedding or baby shower.  Definitely my favourite colour scheme to be working with this year. I’ve done so much pink and gold, that this was a nice change.

I added some dusty rose, gold and greenery to make it all tie in together. My sweet table was design and styled for my booth at the 2018 Festival Coeur Boheme held at the Gare VIger in Montreal, QC.

I find that the rustic chic theme has taken on a whole new life, with more flowers, more greenery and most importantly imagination. So many new scenery is being used for the backdrop of peoples events like mountains, forests and back yards just to name a few.

My favourite part, besides the whole table, is the arch at the back with the hanging hexagon signs made by Jesk, a female run business just right outside of Montreal. As you can tell, I’m surrounded by a tribe full of amazing Women Entrepreneurs that are totally rocking it in the event industry!

Take a look at the beautiful pictures taken by another amazing lady boss, Lana Nimmons.

A Stylish Bar Cart for New year’s Eve

A Stylish Bar Cart for New year’s Eve

Another year has passed and as I reflect upon 2017, I’m going to sound like all the other blog posts out there – “I feel blessed and am truly thankful for what the year has brought!”. It really has been an amazing year. Finding my rhythm, my squad and creating lasting friendships and mentorships with fellow mom bosses and ladypreneurs! One way I’m celebrating this year is by setting up a stylish bar cart to toast me and my family into the new year. I’ve added all of our favorite drinks so that no one feels left out 🙂

Wine Essentials

My favorite drink would be wine. A really good red does the job. But a white can be just as tasty! For my birthday I received this beautiful rose gold bottle of Bottega.

Romantic White and Gold

This summer has been filled with white and gold sweet tables! But the sweet table I styled a few weeks ago was actually one of my most popular to date! It’s a romantic white and gold wedding sweet table. Soft and pretty, delicate and gorgeous all at the same time. I was surrounded by so much white I thought I was in heaven! All vendors that took part in setting up for this wedding are pros in their own right in the Montreal wedding industry.

Trendy Gold and White Sweet Table

Trendy Gold and White Sweet Table

I finally get to show off that trendy gold and white sweet table I worked on in collaboration with Marie from MA Signature Events this past May. She brought together some of the best in the industry to create a seamless and sophisticated styled shoot. It was such an experience, being able to set up in an art studio, the Le Livart. You literally have a blank canvas, all white walls you can play with! It was so much fun being able to see my creation come to life amidst this white backdrop.

I was given carte Blanche (pun intended) to do as I pleased so long as I created something within the elements of the styled shoot: mercury gold, paper flowers, white, trendy and stunning 🙂 . I think I was able to capture the essence she wanted!

Marie shared with us a brief description behind her concept and this is what she had to say:

“I wanted to manipulate white in different elements to bring more of the immaculate whiteness of the venue. But I didn’t want it to be uni-dimensional, so we played with various textures and styles to create an interesting visual. By combining modern, vintage, metal, paper , gold and white, we were able to create an eclectic but stunning decor!”

With that being said, here are the pictures of the shoot taken by the very talented Mo from Maurice Keiffer Wedding Photography

Sophisti’CAT’ed Glam Birthday Sweet Table

Sophisti’CAT’ed Glam Birthday Sweet Table

An upscale Cat Glam Sweet Table

A few weeks ago, we had my daughter’s 8th birthday party. Let me tell you that this little girl has been planning this party for a better part of a year but really focusing on the details in the last 6 months. She loves cats! So I convinced her to have a glam cat party. I didn’t want her to go the baby route (this party is as much for me 🙂 as it is for her), so we came up with a “Sphisti’CAT”ed Glam Birthday”.

The color palette, you guessed it :), was gold, black and white. There was some glitter and sequins to make things pop!

Unicorn Dessert – Cheesecake Mousse

Unicorn Dessert – Cheesecake Mousse

Today I’m going to share something different. I usually share my tricks and tips to creating a beautiful sweet table. Today, I’m going to share a recipe to one of my popular desserts that is usually on my sweet tables. It’s a cheesecake mousse, but I’ve created a special one for this post. I’ve jumped on the Unicorn bandwagon and created my very own version of the popular dessert 🙂 A Unicorn Dessert – Cheesecake Mousse!

Be a Unicorn

This unicorn dessert is so easy and versatile, it’ll be your go to for family gatherings and birthdays. Trust me when I say it’s not only simple it’s yummy! I’ll also let you in on my secret for keeping this dessert stable: gelatine. I use the ever popular KNOX Gelatine, but you can use your favorite or what is available at your local grocery store. You don’t have to add it, but if you’re creating a sweet table that will be displayed for all to see, this will make sure they keep for a bit.

To make these into unicorns, all you need are gel colors in your favorite shades. I used pink and turquoise. A few drops is all it takes. To create the beautiful unicorn hair, color some buttercream in a couple of other colors (i used purple and blue) and pipe it on. Have fun with it!

If you do try it, I’d love to hear how you liked it!

Until the next table, stay sweet!

Unicorn Dessert – Cheesecake Mousse Recipe

  • 8oz cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 package unflavoured gelatine
  • 1/4 cup water

Mousse

1-Pour the water in a small bowl. Sprinkle the gelatine on top of the water. Allow the gelatine to set for 2 minutes. Once set, microwave on high for 30 seconds until melted. Let stand for 2 minutes.

2- With an electric mixer or hand held mixer, beat the cream cheese on high.

3- Mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla.

4- In a seperate bowl, beat the heavy cream and sugar on high until stiff peaks.

5- Whip the gelatine and add to the cream cheese mix.

6- Fold the whip cream into the cream cheese mix.

7- You can seperate the mousse into 3 seperate bowls and color to your liking.

8- Prepare 10-12 small cups (about 5-7 oz). Add your mousse into a piping bag, and pipe into the cups. Top off with some buttercream. Refrigerate until you’re ready to serve or add to your sweet table.

Boho Sweet Table

Boho Sweet Table

This past weekend, I had the privilege of being a vendor at the first ever Boho inspired wedding festival in Montreal, QC, Le Coeur Boheme. It was by far one of the best wedding shows I have had the pleasure of being a part of. I created a boho sweet table that I was so proud of!

I got to meet other professionals within the wedding industry that cater not only to the Boho bride but also the modern, eclectic and not your typical couple. From jewelry to wedding dresses to cakes and photographers. There was something for everyone!

I want to thank Vola from DVF Events for creating the beautiful flower centrepieces, greenery and for telling me that I NEEDED to have the Protea flower along side my desserts! I’m so happy she convinced me as it was the talk of many that stopped by my booth! To the beautiful Marilou from Kyoto Fleurs for lending me her arch to allow me to create this beautiful backdrop! Thank you to Creations by Jazzmine Rose for the signs and cake topper! And to my baby girl for helping me make the macrame backdrop! My truest of inspirations when it comes to my business 🙂

Thank you to the beautiful Koly of La Palette K for taking such pretty pictures of my booth!

Valentine’s Day – All you need is Love

Valentine’s Day – All you need is Love

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and more than ever we need to spread Love and Joy around us. This year I wanted to create something sweet for my kiddies to show them how much I appreciate them. They are my rock and constant reminder that no matter what they love innocently and unconditionally.

This sweet table was so easy to put together, anyone can do it. I walk you through the whole thing and hopefully you can have a party for your little ones to show them Love!

Let’s start with the backdrop. The hearts are made out of foam and bought from the dollar store. The pinwheels were so easy to make! I found a tutorial on Pinterest. Some coloured card stock and glue gun and you’re all set!

Arrange as you see fit. There’s no right or wrong, just whatever catches your eye.

Desserts!

For my desserts I made mini cupcakes, cake pops, chocolate covered oreo gems and some mini donuts. The donuts are my favorite! I purchased the book Mini Donuts by the Novice Chef and they are perfection! I tweaked the glaze a little to give it a bit of “mommy’s touch”.

Don’t be afraid to get creative! I used heart sprinkles, sanding sugar and heart picks to decorate them.

The best part of my shoot… My son wanted to take part so he was all for posing for the camera!

Take a look how adorable this face is! I’m so lucky to have him in my life. I’m so lucky to have all my kids! They make my heart full and my life beautiful!

I hope you’re ready to shower your loved ones with Love! I wish you a beautiful Valentine’s Day and until the next table, stay sweet!
