Glam Baby Shower Sweet Table

Baby Bash!

A few weeks ago I got to set up the most glam of baby shower sweet tables. It was a Baby Bash for a lovely couple expecting their first baby. I met with the mommy-to-be and her Mommy to discuss the upcoming celebration. They are such a beautiful family! Easy going and just wanted everyone to have a good time.

They decided on a trendy theme: Black, White and Gold, dînatoire style menu: cocktail service and a sweet table to finish it off! This baby shower is on trend!

This was not your typical blue or pink set up and party. This was sophistication and glam all rolled up with their very own cocktail drink.

Trendy Gold and White Sweet Table

I finally get to show off that trendy gold and white sweet table I worked on in collaboration with Marie from MA Signature Events this past May. She brought together some of the best in the industry to create a seamless and sophisticated styled shoot. It was such an experience, being able to set up in an art studio, the Le Livart. You literally have a blank canvas, all white walls you can play with! It was so much fun being able to see my creation come to life amidst this white backdrop.

I was given carte Blanche (pun intended) to do as I pleased so long as I created something within the elements of the styled shoot: mercury gold, paper flowers, white, trendy and stunning 🙂 . I think I was able to capture the essence she wanted!

Marie shared with us a brief description behind her concept and this is what she had to say:

“I wanted to manipulate white in different elements to bring more of the immaculate whiteness of the venue. But I didn’t want it to be uni-dimensional, so we played with various textures and styles to create an interesting visual. By combining modern, vintage, metal, paper , gold and white, we were able to create an eclectic but stunning decor!”

With that being said, here are the pictures of the shoot taken by the very talented Mo from Maurice Keiffer Wedding Photography

Happy Birthday Canada!

Happy Birthday Canada!

July 1st will mark 150 years for Canada. Happy Birthday Canada! We are so very lucky to be able to call this land home. My parents immigrated in the 70’s so they’ve seen a lot happen since then. They’ve also come to cherish and know that Canada to them will always be their home. With all that is happening in the world, we are truly lucky to be here.

This year I wanted to celebrate by having the kids color their own flags for the big celebration coming up. I printed some flags and set them up on the dining room table. This was also a great opportunity for me to add a little sweet and drink table for them. I didn’t add a cake this time. I did something better. I found the national anthem laid out in beautiful font as a free printable.

Sophisti’CAT’ed Glam Birthday Sweet Table

An upscale Cat Glam Sweet Table

A few weeks ago, we had my daughter’s 8th birthday party. Let me tell you that this little girl has been planning this party for a better part of a year but really focusing on the details in the last 6 months. She loves cats! So I convinced her to have a glam cat party. I didn’t want her to go the baby route (this party is as much for me 🙂 as it is for her), so we came up with a “Sphisti’CAT”ed Glam Birthday”.

The color palette, you guessed it :), was gold, black and white. There was some glitter and sequins to make things pop!

Unicorn Dessert – Cheesecake Mousse

Today I’m going to share something different. I usually share my tricks and tips to creating a beautiful sweet table. Today, I’m going to share a recipe to one of my popular desserts that is usually on my sweet tables. It’s a cheesecake mousse, but I’ve created a special one for this post. I’ve jumped on the Unicorn bandwagon and created my very own version of the popular dessert 🙂 A Unicorn Dessert – Cheesecake Mousse!

Be a Unicorn

This unicorn dessert is so easy and versatile, it’ll be your go to for family gatherings and birthdays. Trust me when I say it’s not only simple it’s yummy! I’ll also let you in on my secret for keeping this dessert stable: gelatine. I use the ever popular KNOX Gelatine, but you can use your favorite or what is available at your local grocery store. You don’t have to add it, but if you’re creating a sweet table that will be displayed for all to see, this will make sure they keep for a bit.

To make these into unicorns, all you need are gel colors in your favorite shades. I used pink and turquoise. A few drops is all it takes. To create the beautiful unicorn hair, color some buttercream in a couple of other colors (i used purple and blue) and pipe it on. Have fun with it!

If you do try it, I’d love to hear how you liked it!

Until the next table, stay sweet!

Unicorn Dessert – Cheesecake Mousse Recipe

  • 8oz cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 package unflavoured gelatine
  • 1/4 cup water

Mousse

1-Pour the water in a small bowl. Sprinkle the gelatine on top of the water. Allow the gelatine to set for 2 minutes. Once set, microwave on high for 30 seconds until melted. Let stand for 2 minutes.

2- With an electric mixer or hand held mixer, beat the cream cheese on high.

3- Mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla.

4- In a seperate bowl, beat the heavy cream and sugar on high until stiff peaks.

5- Whip the gelatine and add to the cream cheese mix.

6- Fold the whip cream into the cream cheese mix.

7- You can seperate the mousse into 3 seperate bowls and color to your liking.

8- Prepare 10-12 small cups (about 5-7 oz). Add your mousse into a piping bag, and pipe into the cups. Top off with some buttercream. Refrigerate until you’re ready to serve or add to your sweet table.

Easter Celebration Sweet Table

It’s that time of year again, where the snow starts to melt! If you’re living anywhere in this part of the world, it seemed like it was never going to end. We would get 50 cm (20 inches) here, 20 cm there and another amount the next week. It seemed like it was never ending! UGH! But alas, the rain is coming down and it will be warming up. YAY! So with that, we welcome Easter preparations. Everyone, I feel, is excited to bring out the pastel colors, the flowers and just be able to have a beautiful Sunday brunch with their family and friends. Of course, don’t forget the egg hunt 🙂

So what better way to decorate the sweet table with a beautiful floral backdrop! Sorayda from Creations by Jazzmine Rose absolutely outdid herself with this. It’s stunning! Beautiful pastel colors with some bright butterflies to make the whole thing pop!

Donut Tower

My table this year was a very subtle. I wanted to highlight the backdrop as well as create a simple table that anyone can do for their guests. The donut tower is probably the hardest to make, only because it requires patience and diligence, lol. You don’t want to build and eat as you’ll see that you may be missing a few and would have to bake a whole new batch. I used a very simple recipe from Jessica Segarra that wrote the book on these miniature desserts! Trust me you’re going to want to get the book and try them all!

Yummy Desserts

All the other desserts are easy peasy: cupcakes, cake pops, sugar cookies! I also used some decor items from last year 🙂 . I really do love to reuse decorations anyway I can. Don’t get me wrong, I love toshop for what’s the latest at HomeSense (i’m there at least once-twice a week/ I’m their number 1 fan), but I thought simplicity was best for this table.

For those in the Montreal, QC area that feel they have too much to do before Easter, I do have a special treat box on sale right now. Check out my Facebook post for mode details!

Well I hope that you are pleased with this super pretty (ahem backdrop ahem) sweet table and hope that you can use any of my tips at your next event.

Until the next table, stay sweet!

Boho Sweet Table

This past weekend, I had the privilege of being a vendor at the first ever Boho inspired wedding festival in Montreal, QC, Le Coeur Boheme. It was by far one of the best wedding shows I have had the pleasure of being a part of. I created a boho sweet table that I was so proud of!

I got to meet other professionals within the wedding industry that cater not only to the Boho bride but also the modern, eclectic and not your typical couple. From jewelry to wedding dresses to cakes and photographers. There was something for everyone!

I want to thank Vola from DVF Events for creating the beautiful flower centrepieces, greenery and for telling me that I NEEDED to have the Protea flower along side my desserts! I’m so happy she convinced me as it was the talk of many that stopped by my booth! To the beautiful Marilou from Kyoto Fleurs for lending me her arch to allow me to create this beautiful backdrop! Thank you to Creations by Jazzmine Rose for the signs and cake topper! And to my baby girl for helping me make the macrame backdrop! My truest of inspirations when it comes to my business 🙂

Thank you to the beautiful Koly of La Palette K for taking such pretty pictures of my booth!

Kitty Cat Sweet Table Birthday Party

This past weekend I created a beautiful sweet table for a little one turning 2. The mama didn’t go with anything mainstream, but with something cute and cuddly: Kitty cats! Let me tell you that this was a favorite in our house this week. Because it’s a theme I haven’t worked with before, I went on a pinterest/ google mission to find ideas to create a table that the birthday celebrant would love. This was such a sweet theme, a kitty cat sweet table for all ages to enjoy!

The Decorations

I’m always looking to add fun and unique ideas to my sweet tables. No surprise, when the mama showed me some cute balloons that she wanted to add to the table. Those of course are courtesy of Pinterest. The person that came up with adding cat ears to the balloons was genius! They totally set the tone to the table.

I recruited my friends from Lace and Ribbons Events for the printables and Creations by Jazzmine Rose for the banner, cake and cupcake toppers.  They did such an amazing job for something so last minute!

I also added flowers, yarn balls and honeycomb balls to give it some pop of color!

Desserts

As for the desserts, I worked with the colors pink, light teal, gold and ivory. I made cake pops, dessert shots, cupcakes, pretzel sticks, donuts (yummy!!) and sugar cookies.

I hope you enjoyed a little piece of cat heaven today 🙂

Until the next table, stay sweet!

New Year New Look

Good Morning! As you may have seen from some of my posts on Facebook and Instagram, I’ve updated my profile picture. I decided to update my look, but with a twist. I didn’t want to go the traditional route, where i took a pic of my face and that’s it. I did what I do best…I created a theme around my shoot 🙂 !

She’s Building her Empire!

I used the motto and mantra that I have posted everywhere around me. I found this beautiful quote from a Canadian artist on Instagram. Loved it so much I bought it from her etsy shop. I have it hung in my office for me to see everyday as I build my sweet table empire!

The sweet table I created reflected the new color trend of copper with bright bold colours in my floral arrangements. I had so much fun with this shoot! Here I am cheering to my success and continued growth, knowing that everyday is better than the next!

I love what I do! I “create sweet moments” for my clients to cherish for years to come, helping them celebrate an important milestone in their life. What is better than having your cake and eating it too!

Here are some of the pictures taken that day:

I also made Monogram cake pops!

Until the next table, stay sweet!
